Why did you decide to rent bedrooms and your second unit through RCR?
I was interested in bringing in extra income as well as having company around - it’s a win-win!
What has your experience been like since you started renting? What have been the benefits?
It has been nothing short of wonderful and I love having three new relationships in my daily life. It’s kind of like a happy office or temporary dorm In a well appointed Victorian!
How did CLAM/RCR support you in this process?
I received abundant support navigating details (even relationship details) from CLAM and from Ruth Lopez.
There were definitely some pretty rocky weeks, but having a third-party allows you to learn important lessons on what it means to build community. Renting rooms in your home is very personal, and since you’re living with others, there’s nothing else you can do but to embody your personality from the beginning. You have to be good at communicating, especially when it comes to the logistics and money aspects. Having someone like Ruth in my corner made that process so much smoother and made this whole thing possible for me!
What would you say to someone who is thinking about this program?
Do so! You won’t regret it!

Climate, nature, and the people!!
